Carrying
The cellular structure of PU foam means that it can be produced with the ability to absorb a substance, carry it and then release it when it is squeezed. This function can be combined with different levels of density, hardness, abrasiveness and hydrophilic qualities to develop high quality sponges. As well as washing, wiping and scrubbing, these are used for application of cosmetics, polishes and cleaning products. By adapting the cell size, we can tailor the absorbency of the sponge to suit different solid and liquid consistencies, helping to control consumption of the substance being applied.

Protecting
The rise of online purchasing and the prevalence of globalised production and shipping are driving a greater need for lightweight and resilient product protection. Recticel produces a range of foams for this purpose with varying degrees of density and hardness. They are easy to cut into intricate shapes and can be given anti-static properties which are useful in packaging for electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones. We also develop foams that protect the human body, particularly in workwear incorporating extra protection to improve employee safety.
