The cellular structure of PU foam means that it can be produced with the ability to absorb a substance, carry it and then release it when it is squeezed. This function can be combined with different levels of density, hardness, abrasiveness and hydrophilic qualities to develop high quality sponges. As well as washing, wiping and scrubbing, these are used for application of cosmetics, polishes and cleaning products. By adapting the cell size, we can tailor the absorbency of the sponge to suit different solid and liquid consistencies, helping to control consumption of the substance being applied.
